News Dying Light 2 release date set for December
Delays; reported toxic work culture; appeasing AMAs. It seems that Techland is finally ready to show off Dying Light 2.
Zombie-apocalypse fans rejoice! While in the current state of games development, it is never smart to take release dates as concrete, Techland has showcased its repeatedly delayed and ambitious zombie sequel Dying Light 2. The event last night revealed that the game is arriving on December 7, 2021.
The new gameplay trailer which aired during the event showed more locations, gameplay features, and characters. Much like its 2015 predecessor, Dying Light 2 is shaping up to be quite the looker. With expansive and dense cityscapes, and brilliantly gory details on its variety of zombies, now that the game has delayed its way into next-gen, it will surely benefit from the extra boost in power.
Despite Techland announcing that the game would be arriving this side of the New Year just a couple of months ago, it does still seem surprising for the game to lock itself into a December release date. With numerous delays faced and Techland dealing internally with its now widely covered internal issues, it’s easy to imagine another Cyberpunk 2077 styled release.
However, going exclusively by what Techland have showcased, Dying Light 2 looks to be a superb improvement on an already fantastic first game. The new event didn’t reveal much we didn’t already know, but simply reaffirmed that it was going to be a big, dynamic and gory experience.
We’ll be holding our breaths for December 7, 2021, when Dying Light 2 will (supposedly) release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
