Kylie Minogue will play second show at The Eden Project after fan ticket anger

Pop princess Kylie Minogue will play a second show at The Eden Project next year, it has been announced.

It comes after the first Eden Session gig sold out in just 30 minutes.

Fans were quick to spot tickets popping up on third party sites – for up to eight times the original value.

The international pop star will now play on Wednesday, July 3 in addition to her show on Tuesday, July 2.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “We are thrilled to have a second date for Kylie. She has a huge number of fans and now we have a second concert, twice as many will be able to enjoy seeing her at Eden.”

Many music lovers were left disappointed last night after missing out on tickets to watch the international pop star in Cornwall next year.

Tickets for the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head star’s show went on sale at 5pm and sold out just half an hour later.

The Australian will join a huge list of stellar artists to perform between The Eden Project’s biomes, including Sir Elton John, Lionel Richie, Paul Weller, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse and Bjork.

One fed-up fan tweeted: “I think @edenproject need to explain why every time there is a concert at @TheEdenSessions tickets ‘sell-out’ but @viagogo always manage to get a hand full?

“They currently have 39 tickets left (at up to eight times the face value), yet genuine fans fail to secure just two…”

A statement on The Eden Sessions Facebook page stated: “We are very sorry that some people were not able to access the Eden Sessions website to buy tickets this evening for the Kylie Minogue concert. This was due to an exceptionally high volume of traffic.

“We are aware that tickets are already appearing on re-seller sites. We only sell Eden Sessions tickets directly through our own booking system.

“We do not recommend buying tickets from a third party website, apart from Twickets which is a face value or less ticket resale platform, allowing fans to buy and sell tickets safely and securely.”

Writing on The Eden Sessions Facebook page, one fan said: “The website crashed ten minutes before the tickets even went on sale.”

Another added: “Same here. Website crashed at 4.50pm. Very grumpy.”

Tickets to the second Kylie Minogue Eden Session on July 3 cost £60 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track club from 4pm today (Tuesday November 20).

Tickets to the second Kylie Minogue Eden Session on July 3 go on general sale at 5pm on Monday November 26 through www.edensessions.com.
