Piers Morgan blasts Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson as ‘stupid’ and ‘irresponsible’ for getting gun tattoo
Piers Morgan has blasted Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson as “irresponsible and stupid” for having a gun tattooed on her body.
The Good Morning Britain presenter criticised the Little Mix singer for getting the tattoo when she is supposed to be a “role model to millions of impressionable young girls.”
Nelson showcased a new tattoo next to her ear and a tattoo of a small pistol on her ribcage in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
In the caption, she thanked the tattooist for “always giving me my favourite little tattoos”.
Believing the image he was looking at was a tattoo on her bottom, Morgan said: “Anyway Jesy this great role model to millions of influential young women, who wants to empower them, she’s had a new tattoo put on herself and she posted last night.
“It’s a gun, it’s a gun on the right side of her backside. Erm, it’s a gun.”
Susanna Reid then interjected: “It’s so that she can continue shooting insults at you.”
Morgan continued: “It’s a gun, isn’t that great as gun crime in this country begins to tick up as gun crime in other countries like America rages.
“So many people are getting shot to pieces and of course, the best thing for a young woman to do as a role model to millions of impressionable young girls is to tattoo a gun to her backside.
“And people wonder why I call these girls, Little Mix, irresponsible or stupid. “
Realising the tattoo was on her ribcage, he then said: “It’s a gun, it really doesn’t matter where she has had it tattooed.”
“That’s the message she wants to be communicated to her millions of young female fans is that a gun’s cool. A gun, isn’t that great? So they may go and get a gun and shoot people. God, she’s stupid.”
Reid then quipped back: “Well she thinks you’re an idiot. So I think you’re even.
She also argued that “guns are metaphors” but Morgan replied “guns kill people.”
Morgan has been embroiled in a spat with the girl band since he accused them of using “sex” and “nudity” to sell records in the wake of their new music video for single Strip.
