Prosecutors in Spain: Ronaldo will be sentenced to two years in prison

The footballer is unlikely to go to jail under Spanish law, it is expected that the punishment will be transferred to a two-year probationary period, Reuters reports citing the Spanish prosecutor’s office.

Ronaldo, in addition to a fine of 3.2 million euros, will reimburse the damage to the tax authorities in the amount of 5.7 million euros. Also, the Portuguese will pay 1 million euros on accrued interest and 250 euros for each day of the two-year period.

It is expected that the total amount that will pay Ronaldo in this case, in the end will be about 19 million euros.

In July last year at a court session, the football player said that he never hid anything and did not try to avoid tax payments.

Ronaldo in the current summer transfer window moved from Madrid “Real” to “Juventus”.
