London has been revealed to be the supercar capital of the world after it was found to have more flash cars lining its streets than Moscow, Los Angeles and New York.

Recent data taken from Instagram shows that, out of the 148.1 million images of supercars which have been shared in the last three years, 6.1 million were taken in London.

More than 4 per cent of the pictures of flash cars were shared in London, beating Moscow, Los Angeles and New York – with 5.9 million, 4 million and 3.7 million respectively.

In London, Knightsbridge was the biggest hotspot for luxury cars, with Harrods, The Park Tower Hotel and Sloane Street being the top locations to spot a supercar in the capital.

After the Knightsbridge hotspots, Lowndes Square in Belgravia and The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair were also found to have a number of flash cars lining the streets in the last three years.

Analysis of Instagram data led by Activity Superstore reveals Ferrari as being the most popular supercar to post on Instagram, with almost 59 million global posts since 2015.

More than 48 million pictures of Lamborghinis were posted on Instagram in the last three years, followed by Porsches at 43 million, McLaren at 17.6 million and Bentleys at 17.5 million.

A Lykan Hypersport is the least Instagrammed supercar, featuring in 483,000 posts.

A map displaying the data shows that Aston Martins can be mostly found in London, Los Angeles and Istanbul, whereas Bentleys are most spotted in Moscow, London and Dubai.

Las Vegas can be seen to be the capital of the Hennessey Venom and Guadalajara is the capital of the Koenigsegg.

Matt Davis, from gift experience compant Activity Superstore, said: “We’re living in an era of supercar showmanship. Where millionaires, and billionaires, use their exotic automotive finery to wow an audience of admirers.

“It obviously works because in just the last three years, a huge 148 million supercars have been Instagrammed.

“There may be many dedicated enthusiasts out there but almost everyone can appreciate a beautifully crafted supercar when they see one.

“For this reason, we decided to map out where the supercar capitals are so people know where to go if they want to spot one.” (Standard)
