Czech Republic will stop producing and using disposable plastic dishes
The Senate of the Czech Republic approved a ban on the production and sale of disposable plastic goods.
Now the country will not produce and sell disposable plastic goods, which can be replaced by products made from alternative materials, the portal Upakovano.ru reports.
After long debate, the senators agreed with the EU plan to drastically reduce the use of disposable dishes for food.
Thus, the ban will concern, first of all, disposable plastic dishes, straws for drinks and plastic fastenings for balloons.
In addition, the Czech Republic plans to reduce the total volume of plastic packaging for products, as well as to collect 90% of plastic bottles using the tare value system by 2025, as required by the European Union.
