The Soviet wrestler Nikolai Volkov passed away
At the age of 70 years, the famous Yugoslav wrestler Josip Peruzovic, better known under the pseudonym Nikolai Volkov, passed away at his farm in Glen-Arm, Maryland.
This is reported by the press service of the World Wrestling Federation (WWE). He died in a hospital on July 29 from dehydration on the background of other health problems.
Fans of wrestling remember Volkov because he wore a papakha (wool hat worn by men throughout the Caucasus) and a red turtleneck or a jacket depicted Russian man, singing the hymn of the Soviet Union before the battles, although he had a mixed Russian-Croatian origin.
He participated in Baltimore district police programs, which purpose was to help children, and worked as an executive officer of the district. From time to time I performed at independent shows.
Volkov was included in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, and the last time he appeared in the ring in 2014.
