Ancelotti reportedly wants two Tottenham misfits at Everton, but will only sign one
Everton added a couple of midfielders over the summer, but Carlo Ancelotti may yet look to add more in January.
The Toffees brought in Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan to bolster Ancelotti’s side, but Everton are now weighing up raids on Tottenham Hotspur.
The Mirror claim that Ancelotti admires both Harry Winks and Dele Alli, who could be on the move in January having fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
Both players fear they will miss out on England’s squad for the European Championships, and Everton now hope to take one of them on loan.
Paris Saint-Germain want to launch a fourth – yes, fourth – bid for Alli having failed with three summer offers, but Everton are now in the mix.
Ancelotti may well admire the duo, but it’s hard to see just where Winks would fit in right now given that Allan and Doucoure are his first-choice pairing.
Alli may be more sensible. He could play as a number 10 behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with support from Richarlison and James Rodriguez out wide.
Whether Daniel Levy would let the pair join a Premier League rival remains to be seen, but the duo will be attracting major interest given their lack of first-team football under Mourinho this season.
