Barcelona in talks with Everton and West Ham over Martin Braithwaite transfer
Everton and West Ham are reportedly battling to sign Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite.
The 29-year-old was a shock February arrival at the Nou Camp with the LaLiga giants signing him in a £15million emergency transfer from Leganes.
Braithwaite scored just once in 11 league matches as Barcelona were beaten to the title by Real Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona could sell the Denmark international for £16m this summer, despite there still being four years left on his contract.
The report adds Everton and West Ham are in talks with Barcelona over a deal for the Middlesbrough flop.
Everton are believed to have a ‘good relationship’ with the Catalans after signing Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina in 2018.
Meanwhile, it is claimed West Ham have been tracking Braithwaite since his Leganes days.
Braithwaite joined Boro for £9million from Toulouse in 2017 as they sought to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
He lasted only half a season on Teesside, scoring six times, before being sent on loan to Bordeaux.
Braithwaite came back to Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018, but was again sent out on loan in the January transfer window, this time to Leganes, who made his move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele saw LaLiga give Barcelona permission to sign Braithwaite outside of the transfer window earlier this year.
