Carlo Ancelotti and Anthony Gordon post on Twitter as Everton hold Liverpool
Everton managed to secure a point and a clean sheet against league leaders and Merseyside rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park on Sunday evening – and both Carlo Ancelotti and Anthony Gordon have reacted on Twitter.
Jurgen Klopp fielded a somewhat weakened side against Everton, with Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, Mo Salah and Gini Wijnaldum all out of the starting line-up for differing reasons. Anthony Gordon started for Everton.
It was Everton that arguably had the best chances. Dom Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison both had good efforts saved, while Tom Davies flashed an effort onto the post with Adrian helpless.
With Liverpool needing six points before the start of the clash, they have taken a small step to their first Premier League title in 30 years – but the draw sees Manchester City close the gap to 23. Ancelotti and Gordon reacted.

Given the surroundings, it was a somewhat tentative approach by Liverpool – and indeed by Klopp given his starting line-up. Naby Keita looked sharp and that will have been a boost, but they were not at their marauding best.
Everton, meanwhile, were excellent. The combination of Richarlison and Dom Calvert-Lewin caused problems while Gordon did well before being taken off after 60 minutes. Everton were very good, and could finish the season well.
