Chelsea have date set for Emerson Palmieri transfer amid Ben Chilwell interest
Chelsea now have a date set for a transfer for Emerson Palmieri to go through.
Inter Milan are desperately looking to tie up a deal for the ex-Roma star but were waiting for their Europa League campaign to end.
After reaching the final, that date is now set as they look to beat Sevilla in the final.
Antonio Conte’s men thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0 to reach the final, which will go ahead on Friday.
And regardless of the result, plans will be set into motion after the match that will see Emerson join Inter Milan, according to Sky Sports.
The Italy international is Conte’s top target at left-back, something Frank Lampard is happy to accept to.
That is because Emerson has failed to impress the Blues boss in both a back-four and a three-at-the-back system.
Lampard has his own plans at left-back, with Leicester ace Ben Chilwell his top target.
The Englishman is being courted by Manchester United as well as Chelsea, but the Blues are said to be leading the race.
However, the Foxes have slapped a whopping £80m price tag on the defender.
They remain emboldened in the transfer market after a fine campaign under Brendan Rodgers.
Despite late disappointment in falling out of the top four, Leicester performed better than most expectations to finish fifth in the Premier League.
And Rodgers has no intention of breaking up his squad of young guns as interest in them ramps up.
Leicester will also feel confident over keeping their left-back to that price after he signed a new contract last season.
That would keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2024 while his status as an England international has also seen his value skyrocket.
Chelsea have other options linked, including Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico, Atalanta ace Robin Gosens who has caught the eye while Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguillon is the latest to be scouted.
