Chelsea make loan decision on Hull City target Nathan Baxter
Chelsea are willing to send promising young goalkeeper Nathan Baxter on loan for another year, according to reports.
Baxter has been strongly linked with a move to Hull City over the last few days as the Tigers look to continue building their squad for the upcoming Championship season.
Grant McCann is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after seeing George Long leave the club for Millwall last month and with Baxter on their radar, it seems the path could have been cleared for a loan switch.
The Sun reporter Alan Nixon claims Chelsea are keen to loan out the 22-year-old once more with City facing competition from League One Sunderland.
Baxter has never played at a level higher than the third tier in England, where he spent a portion of last season on loan with Accrington Stanley, but should he make the move to the KCOM Stadium, he will be expected to provide competition for current number one Matt Ingram.
He has previously spent time with Ross County, Yeovil Town, Woking, Solihull Moors and Metropolitan Police, amassing 155 appearances in all competitions along the way.
The keeper is one of a host of youngsters set to be loaned out by Chelsea next season and he’ll hope to gain yet more valuable experience, be that in East Yorkshire or elsewhere.
City have already bagged George Moncur on a free transfer this summer and McCann confirmed in an interview with the BBC that he has high hopes of adding more new faces this week.
