Leicester City ‘rivalling’ AC Milan in transfer race for highly-rated Serie A ace
Leicester City face competition from AC Milan in a race to sign midfielder Mattias Svanberg, according to reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old is a man demand as he enjoys a great season with Serie A outfit Bologna, who signed the Swedish international from Malmo in 2018.
Svanberg has been capped four times by his country and has made more than 100 appearances for his current club. His agent has reportedly opened talks with Milan, where he would be united with Swedish icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic, although Bologna are said to be reluctant to sell at present.
While Milan, who currently lead the way in Serie A by three points, are the favourites to land Svanberg, there is also said to be significant interest from the Premier League.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Foxes and Southampton are also keen on Svanberg, who is regarded a player of rich potential.
Di Marzio says any transfer of Svanberg is more likely occur in the summer rather than the current transfer window.
