Liverpool reportedly want a player Ruben Dias has compared to Cristiano Ronaldo
Liverpool have been linked with Pedro Neto, and Manchester City star Ruben Neves’s previous comments on the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger will encourage the Anfield faithful.
Goal are reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Neto from Premier League rivals Wolves.
That’s because the 21-year-old winger is injured at the moment.
The Portugal international suffered a knee injury in April and did not play again last season.
It remains to be seen when Neto is back to full fitness again.
City central defender Dias plays with Neto for the Portugal national football team.
The 24-year-old is also teammates with Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo at Portugal.Dias rates Neto highly and compared him to Ronaldo in May 2021.
The City defender said that the Wolves winger is up where with Ronaldo when it comes to dribbling.
Dias said on the Premier League YouTube channel, as transcribed at the time: “Again I need to say Cristiano (Ronaldo). The time he was here he was definitely great, he got the Ballon d’Or, but I have to say (Pedro) Neto as well and also Bernardo, Bernardo is a phenomenon.”
Neto is a very good player who can operate as a winger, central attacking midfielder and also upfront.
And Dias’s praise of the Wolves star shows the kind of player Liverpool would get.
Dias would know Neto more than others, as they are Portugal teammates.
Not many players get compared to the great Ronaldo.
Neto is only 21, and the Wolves star will improve and get better in the coming years.
The Portugal international scored five goals and created nine big chances in 31 Premier League matches last season before his injury.
