Luis Suárez has allegedly pulled the plug on move to Juventus

The Uruguayan has dismissed the possibility of joining the bianconeri despite having agreed terms with the Serie A champions.

Apparently, Luis Suárez will not be joining Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala this summer, since the footballer has asked his lawyers to snub the transfer, even if he had agreed financial terms and the length of his deal with the Italian champions.

According to RAC1, the South American striker has decided to pull the plug on the move due to the complications to get an Italian passport in time to be registered to play in the UEFA Champions League. Juventus had stated October 6 as the deadline for Suárez to get the document, but his legal team has made it clear to the player that such a request will be almost impossible to accomplish.

In fact, the report by RAC1 revealed that Suárez’s attorneys had turned to backdoor channels to speed up the process, but they had failed in their attempts to satisfy their client’s demands.

Even with this setback, Luis Suárez’s future does not having him dressed up as a Blaugrana, since other clubs such as Atlético have made inquiries about the footballer’s future.

Added to that, Barcelona’s technical secretary Ramón Planes discussed Suárez’s future while at Miralem Pjanic’s unveiling ceremony, admitting that the Blaugrana side will search for a striker even if the Uruguayan stays put.

“Luis is a very important player and he has been so for the last years. As I said in another press conference, we must be respectful of all the players that have given this team so much. It is also obvious that after the end of last season we are undergoing a rebuilding process, with a new coach and new ideas, and we’re working on that subject,” the exec stated.

“We have to respectour players and their current contracts. The transfer window is open until October 5, and we have to wait until then to see what goes on. We will go out and search for a striker regardless of what happens with Luis’ future,” Ramón Planes added.

Luis Suárez has one year left in his deal with the Blaugrana side, with an option to add one more season to his deal if he plays 60% of the games. Nevertheless, it seems that Suárez will not be able to play in any games for the Catalan club as things stand.
