Man Utd ‘given Nikola Milenkovic price by Fiorentina’ ahead of summer transfer window
Manchester United are reportedly in the mix for the signing of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic. And it’s claimed the Red Devils will have to pay £26million to sign the Serbia international. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his squad as he aims to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
Manchester United are well-stocked with defenders at present.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof’s partnership continues to go from strength to strength, emerging as Solskjaer’s first-choice centre-back pairing.
They recently tied Eric Bailly down to a new contract, with the Ivory Coast international previously being linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
And United also have Axel Tuanzebe on the books, too.
Despite that, however, Solskjaer is keen to sign a new centre-back when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.
And Calciomercato claim United are in the mix to sign Milenkovic, as well as West Ham and Everton.
It’s said Fiorentina would like a fee of £26m to part ways with their prized asset, who has made 31 appearances in Serie A this season.
The 23-year-old is seen as a way for the Italian side to raise funds, especially with La Viola looking primed to miss out on a place in net season’s Champions League.
Milenkovic’s contract with the club expires next summer.
And they’d rather sell him now for a fee instead of losing him for nothing in 12 months’ time.
United can offer the Serb a place in next season’s Champions League, with their involvement in the competition next season practically guaranteed.
And he’s not the only player being linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams, with the Red Devils also keen on the likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Raphael Varane.
