Pep Guardiola makes eight changes to Man City team vs Crystal Palace
Pep Guardiola has made eight changes to his Manchester City starting XI against Crystal Palace, making it clear where priorities lie this week.
City can put one hand on the Premier League trophy on Saturday afternoon with a win at Selhurst Park, and will be crowned champions should they claim all three points and Manchester United lose to Liverpool on Sunday.
However, the trip to South London has come at an awkward time for the Blues with it wedged in between both legs of their Champions League semi-final vs Paris Saint-Germain.
Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez led to an impressive comeback victory in Paris on Wednesday and with City closer to a Champions League final than they have ever been, Guardiola has heavily rotated his side in order to keep his players well rested for Tuesday’s second leg.
Goalkeeper Ederson, Joao Cancelo and Rodri are the only players to remain in the side from Wednesday’s massive win against PSG.
Sergio Aguero has come in for a rare start, with time running out for the Argentine to extend his goal tally before he leaves the club in the summer. He will be joined by Ferran Torres, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in attack.
Elsewhere, Nathan Ake, Benjamin Mendy, Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho have all come into the starting XI.
