Ralph Hasenhuttl sends warning over Tino Livramento after fine start to Southampton career
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has warned supporters not to get too carried away with Tino Livramento, telling those raving about the teenage talent that he ‘still has a lot to learn’.
Livramento was the man of the match for Saints against United and has been the club’s best performer so far this season, albeit only two games into the campaign.
He is already a favourite amongst supporters too, who can regularly be heard chanting ‘Tino, Tino, Tino’ when the Chelsea star is in possession. His acquisition has proven to be a real masterstroke by Saints who secured his services for just £5million this summer after he snubbed a new contract with Chelsea.
But Hasenhuttl does not want Southampton fans to get too carried away too early over a player who is still very, very young.
“I must say, I am happy for both him and us that he chose to come here,” he said.
“It can be hard for us as a club to get one of the best talents in England. He has played two games so don’t hang it too high. Keep it calm, he does not need lifting and he still has a lot to learn.
He added: “However, he has everything to be good. He has the body, the speed, the talent on the ball. This is a good combination, a good package. It’s on us to work with it now.
