Rangers top international form table with Celtic posted missing among elite
Rangers are 16 points ahead of rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, but that’s not the only table they’re currently leading.
Steven Gerrard’s men have produced a superb run of league form this season, winning 18 of their first 20 matches and drawing two.
That run includes a 2-0 win over Neil Lennon’s side at Celtic Park in October, and with the two sides just days away from the season’s second derby Rangers sit at the peak of Transfermarkt’s international form table.
The rankings are based on the results of teams in every top flight league across the world over the last 10 fixtures.
Gerrard’s side have a 100% record over that period, matched only by Shan United of Myanmar and Budućnost Podgorica of Montenegro. Rangers take first place on account of their superior goal difference.
It’s a reflection of how far the Scottish side have come this season, with Celtic holding a 13-point lead when last season’s Premiership was curtailed in March.
Rangers last dropped Premiership points in September’s 2-2 draw with Hibs at Easter Road, and face St Mirren in Paisley on Wednesday before welcoming Celtic to Ibrox for Saturday’s crucial derby.
Celtic’s 3-0 win over Hamilton Accies on Saturday was their third consecutive league victory, but that form isn’t enough to earn them a place in the list of 100 on-form clubs.
