Slaven Bilic sends message to Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilic has shared his thoughts on fellow boss Marcelo Bielsa of Leeds United and explained why he ‘loves’ him the most as a manager.
Bilic and Bielsa went head to head last season in the Championship as Leeds won the title and the Baggies secured the second automatic promotion spot.
The former Croatia manager has now discussed his views on some of the best managers in world football and he name-dropped Bielsa in a passionate speech on what separates the top bosses including Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.
Bilic explained: “All the big coaches, the difference between them and others it’s not just talent, it’s even questionable whether it is talent. They are crazy.
“When you see (Antonio) Conte on TV, he is physically hurt when they lose a match.
“And those kinds of people work harder than other ones.”
Asked if Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool was the same, Bilic responded: “Klopp, Conte, Pep (Guardiola) and Bielsa. That’s just crazy.
“You can’t say ‘I will go watch Bielsa do coaching and next year we will be the same’. You will not. You need to be Bielsa.”
Bilic continued on Bielsa: “Yes I did (talk about him a lot). That’s why I am talking about this.
“Now some other coach will write all Bielsa is doing on training etc and we will win. It doesn’t go like that.
“That’s why he is ‘El Loco’. That’s why I love him the most. He is a true gentleman. True gentleman and that’s it. That respect he gives to others. And he is Bielsa.”
