Surprise Tottenham transfer confirmed as wonderkid is reunited with former midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Maxi Tainio has completed a move to FC Haka.
Whilst the surprise deal is yet to be confirmed by the north London outfit, the Finnish side announced the move via their official website earlier in the week, and the teenager is set for his first taste of first-team football.
Furthermore, it would appear that Tainio has signed a long-term deal with Haka which means he might have left Spurs on a permanent basis.
In doing so, Tainio is reunited with former Spurs midfielder, Teemu, who just so happens to be his father.
The 19-year-old, who can operate either in midfield or at right-back, has made 17 appearances across all competitions at academy level this season.
Another Spurs youngster out on loan this season is goalkeeper Brandon Austin.
The 21-year-old has had a season to remember, making six appearances on the Tottenham bench under both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho in the Premier League and Champions League.
In January he made the switch to Danish second division side Viborg and has allowed to remain there until the end of the season.
A gesture which has been greatly received by Viborg.
“We are, of course, pleased that we have reached an agreement relatively quickly and that Tottenham has shown great understanding of the situation,” the club’s sporting director, Jesper Fredberg, said.
“Brandon has got off to a great start in the club and we are very pleased that we have him for all the games that await the rest of the season.”
