Thomas Tuchel comments on West Ham top four chances
Thomas Tuchel has suggested that West Ham are a “joy to watch” ahead of the London derby clash against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Hammers are currently fourth in the table, despite failing to win in their last three games.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are top of the Premier League table, and are one of the contenders for the title.
Ahead of the match, Tuchel was asked if West Ham deserve to be in the top four. He replied (03 December) as quoted by Football London:
“They almost got there last season and have been fighting he whole season for these plays. They show a huge solidarity, always a huge joy to watch their games.
“They did not have too many changes, play as a team and do what they do very good. They deserve to be there, they play strong in Europe, it is a tough match and a tough team to play against but it is also tough to play against us.”
West Ham have been outstanding this season under David Moyes, both in the Premier League as also in Europe.
The expectation from the team is growing, and the Hammers have shown they are good enough to beat any team on their day.
They have beaten the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham already this season, and there’s no reason to believe why the Hammers can’t pull off a victory against the Blues.
Having said that, they need to be on top of their game on Saturday.
The 1-1 draw against Brighton has been really frustrating. West Ham created some very good opportunities but they couldn’t hold on to the slender lead.
The Saturday lunchtime clash is also going to be special for Kurt Zouma, the former Chelsea defender who moved to the Hammers in the summer.
Moyes is not getting carried away with top-four talks. There’s plenty of football left to be played, and the best thing to do is to take games one at a time.
