Tottenham Hotspur target James Maddison is a Manchester United fan
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United target James Maddison grew up supporting the Red Devils, it has been revealed.
That may well give Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side a boost, as they battle Tottenham to sign Maddison from Leicester City.
The Independent have reported how United have joined the race for Maddison, who Spurs also want.
The attacking midfielder is said to be available for a fee of around £60 million.
And United fans will surely be encouraged after reading Maddison’s past comments on them.
“Cristiano [is my hero],” Maddison said. “I’m a Manchester United fan, he was my boy.”
Maddison enjoyed a fine first season at Premier League level, where he quickly become one of Leicester’s key players.
Tottenham and United are both looking to strengthen their squads this summer, and it could be that a bidding war occurs for the attacking midfielder.
