Conte ended Juventus’ domination of Italian football when his Inter side won Serie A this season and there were expectations that the club would further build on their success.
But there are claims in Italy that Inter are staring at a period of austerity, despite their owners securing fresh investment and the club are still in a poor financial situation.
Inter are aiming to cut their salary bill by 20 per cent, while they also want to make €100m in player sales in the summer.
And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte is now keen to find his way out of the club amidst such financial problems.
The Inter coach is keen to see more investment into his squad and has no interest in selling any one of his best players in the transfer window.
But with Inter looking to raise cash, the club are expected to try and move out one of their best players for a big fee in the summer.
Conte is not believed to be ready to compromise and it has been claimed that he could leave Inter in the next 48 hours.
He could be paid a severance package of €7m.
Tottenham are reportedly interested in taking the former Chelsea manager back to England and are said to have spoken to him.
