Wolverhampton Wanderers Wolves supporters discuss Renato Sanches on Twitter amid reports

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly considering a move to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches ahead of the January transfer window, in a move that would add to their Portuguese contingent – and fans have reacted.

Hopes of a world-beater were high when Sanchez burst onto the scene. The 21-time Portugal international broke onto the scene with some eye-catching performances for Benfica – and then joined Bayern Munich.

But despite more than 50 appearances for the German champions, Sanches has failed to live up to his high expectations. Instead, has has moved to France and with Lille, where has been rebuilding his reputation.

Since joining in the summer of 2019, Sanches has clocked up 40 appearances and has been praised for his displays in Ligue 1. He has started seven of his side’s 10 league games, with a hamstring injury limiting him.

But CalcioMercato now claim he could have a second crack at the Premier League, after struggling with Swansea City. Lille president Gerard Lopez was quoted by Goal as saying he rejected a £64million offer in the summer.

Wolves supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club could go after Sanches, adding to what is already a top-heavy side filled with Portuguese talent. Many, though, think he could be a good addition.
